What Is A Conservative After All But One Who Conserves, One Who Is Committed To Protecting And Holding Close The Things By Which We Live...and We Want To Protect And Conserve The Land On Which We Live - Our Countryside, Our Rivers And Mountains, Our Plains And Meadows And Forests. This Is Our Patrimony. This Is What We Leave To Our Children. And Our Great Moral Responsibility Is To Leave It To Them Either As We Found It Or Better Than We Found It.

Israel Exists; It Has A Right To Exist In Peace Behind Secure And Defensible Borders; And It Has A Right To Demand Of Its Neighbors That They Recognize Those Facts. I Have Personally Followed And Supported Israel's Heroic Struggle For Survival, Ever Since The Founding Of The State Of Israel 34 Years Ago. In The Pre-1967 Borders Israel Was Barely 10 Miles Wide At Its Narrowest Point. The Bulk Of Israel's Population Lived Within Artillery Range Of Hostile Arab Armies. I Am Not About To Ask Israel To Live That Way Again.

We Were Poor When I Was Young But The Difference Was That The Government Didn't Come Around Telling You You Were Poor.

The American People Cannot Close Their Eyes To Abuses Of Human Rights And Injustice, Whether They Occur Among Friend Or Adversary Or Even On Our Own Shores.
